Sunday school
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” - Proverbs 22:6
Mission Statement:
Our mission in Sunday school is to bring forth children who are God fearing and have a desire to know and serve Jesus Christ.
Over the years, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Ottawa Sunday school ministry has been growing strong and bearing in fruit. Today, the EECO Sunday school serves over 65 children from K – 8 and 15 students from high school every week. The Sunday school consists of 7 full time Sunday school teachers and a number of parent volunteers to assist with the toddlers and preschoolers.
The EECO Sunday school also consists of a committee of 5 members who meet regularly to plan, organize, and co-ordinate various activities and fundraisers for Sunday school, as well as recruit teacher volunteers and inform parents about the ministry through ongoing annual events.
This year, the EECO Sunday school has been blessed to add a new branch of youth as part of its ministry. The EECO Youth Group is an extension of the Sunday school and is led and overseen by volunteer Sunday school teachers.
The EECO Sunday school is responsible for training and equipping the Sunday school teachers with sound curriculum, materials, and resources that align with the EECO’s beliefs, doctrine, and statement of faith.
